Culture//Nautre//Production

Final:

Process:
(you'll need to click images to see larger)
-Starting off with my favourtie area; creating thumbnail sketches on the computer. (some I did on paper, but I usually stick with 100% digital)
-Picking my fave thumbnail and giving a quick splash of colour to see what direction I might use with the colour.
-Then it's a case of creating a new layer on top and just fleshing out the details on my wacom.

-Had to cut out one part of the drawing and work on it seperatly as my computer was crumbling under the pressure of such a big file size.
-Return to main document I find the colours I tried out before and start to apply them.

-Then what can I say about the following shots? Just me spending ages adding all the little details that causes me the most pain, but is what brings out your piece to life.

Well there's that. Maybe I'll do a proper tutorial someday when the day comes I feel compassion ;)

iO Online

Finally Uploaded iO to many online sources, check it out.

iO on DeviantArt:

DeviantArt seems to be the best quality version for some reason, even though it's the lowest rez; it didn't try to compress the sound, which is very important for this film.

Experiments in Space

Whilst painting a new space scene, I realized I needed to learn some new techniques. So set out to learn a little digital space art in order to enhance my concept... So here are a couple experiments I worked on from that.

And now back to my concept painting....

Some Work in Progress

Got some extra time to work on some concept painting, so here's a little work in progress, still much to do; but wanted to show you how much of a mess my stuff starts of as ;) .. (and hopefully a few don't end up so!)

This certain concept is for a short comic I wanted to create based on a space program by a Hindu culture, that have managed to enslave a small part of the God Shiva*, and built it into the ships design, Given them unfathomable power.
This certain scene is just showing a time before the comic where they are first trying to enslave the energy into the ship.

...don't know why I keep toying with these similar concept of trying to enslave personified energy, I just like portraying a group of humans as utter bastards.

So hopefully will upload finished version soon.

*For those that don't know, Shiva is the Hindu God of destruction (among other attributes). 'A destroyer of worlds', so to speak... So not a bad weapon to have in one's arsenal eh?

jOanna

I'm currently working out a new Flash animation based on this young girl; jOanna, a cursed girl where something very 'unique' happens to her when she gets overly sad...
More to come on that later, for now here are some initial play on design ideas.

Must think happy thoughts...

New Internet Updates

Thought I would return to the internet, with a big update to my website! Be sure to check it out, I've uploaded a bunch of new artwork to it also.

http://www.wardyworks.co.uk

Also.... I'll see how it goes, but I'm a part of Twitter now, even though it embodies everything I hate about the internet and the kind of people that use it... But I'm also a notorious hypocrite... So follow me if you'd like to raise my self worth.
